What should you carry in your diaper bag

A favorite of ours is the Miracle Cup —it will never leak! Keep this handy in one of the front pockets of your bag for quick access. Keep water handy in your favorite reusable canister.

This will vary slightly depending on the age of your child and if you make your own baby food. There are a lot of handy utensils on the market now that can help with feeding on the go. For instance, the Go Bowl folds down flat for easy storage and then pops open for use or the Squeeze Spoon holds pureed baby food in the back portion of the handle allowing you to squeeze food directly onto the spoon. Choose one pouch to hold everything or our personal favorite is to keep it in a Tupperware container or Ziploc bag.

Kids are always hungry. Similar to what we mentioned in Mealtime, keep all your snacks in a Ziploc or the same pocket for quick access. Keeping with easy, package snacks in something like a Snack Catcher , that allows little hands to reach in and snacks not to spill out. Another snack item we love is a Fresh Food Feeder , for kids learning to self-feed you can place a soft piece of fruit in the mesh portion and baby can safely eat without a choking hazard.

Only a few things need to be added to your bag at this point. Your keys, wallet, and other personal effects should be kept close, we love the front zipper pouch for these items. Some people prefer a separate bag, but why add more bulk?!

Are there any other essentials you like to keep in your bag that we left out? Tell us in the comments below. These are especially essential in the first few weeks after birth when your liquid output is still high. Put feeding items in one section, diaper change items in another, your own stuff in another, and so on.

Essentially an offshoot of the previous tip, it consists of strapping a regular pack of wipes onto the lid of an empty wipe tub with an elastic headband. This leaves room inside the tub for diaper-changing essentials diapers, a change of clothes in case of blowouts and a foldable portable changing pad. So when baby needs a change—and fast! So pack each in a sealed plastic bag, just in case. Getting Pregnant. Popular links under Pregnancy First Trimester.

I usually keep these things all together in an easy-to-reach pocket. I always keep at least one snack for myself in the diaper bag.

These are my favorite reusable pads , and I like these disposable ones. A burp cloth is helpful during feedings. Make sure to run any medications by your doctor first. We regularly use these gas drops , and these saline drops with a bulb syringe. This might seem excessive, but I feel a lot more comfortable carrying a thermometer in my diaper bag. This is the one I have.
