When is hulkageddon 2017 over

Consider your starkest EVE memories. How many of them circle around mastering a mechanics change and how many of them circle around interacting — sometimes cooperatively, sometimes competitively — with other people? If there are other players in the sight will I contest for the drop? If they generate the drop, will I attempt to filch it?

If I generate the drop will they attempt to filch it and go suspect on me? If they do, will I pop a shot at them? An event or two back, a random player and I kept running across each other as we worked our preferred pocket.

Rather than continually contesting with each other we instead linked up to run the sights together and split the loot, all the while bantering as we went. My starkest memory, however, is not the cooperative linkup though that was enjoyable nor the competitive tussling as we dropped in on other pilots to contest those sites which we quickly grew adept at.

No, my starkest memory was a tantrum delivered by one cranky individual who had ponderously deployed a Mobile Tractor Unit to pull all those mostly empty wrecks towards his boat for eventual loot and salvaging.

Only to have my newly met space buddy and I warp into the site, pop the boss, grab the only piece of worthwhile loot to be found and then flutter off like moths in a hurricane. That total was an uptick from Hulkageddon II — Event without a Tag Line , which saw over 1, exhumer and mining barge wrecks in its wake.

So it seemed, perhaps, that Hulkageddon was losing its luster after its fourth run. Maybe people were getting tired of the event? Some said it must be dead. Depending on how you calculate success, of course. A look at the Hulkageddon V leader board , just one week into the month long event, shows that it has already surpassed previous Hulkageddon destruction totals, with just over 2, exhumers and nearly 1, mining barges wrecked in the asteroid belts around New Eden.

That adds up to about billion ISK in damage. The leading killer in the event is closing in on the exhumer mark, which means he already has 1. What factor, or combination of factors, is driving this on? Could it be the Goonswarm Federations adding to the list of prizes , so that there is an automatic payout of million ISK to players for every 10 exhumers they destroy? Is it the Goonswarm sponsorship itself?

Has their involvement gotten more players out of null sec and into gank ships in high sec, either through patriotic fervor or a desire to support the OTEC stranglehold on technetium? Remember how much technetium it takes to make a Hulk or a Mackinaw exhumer.

Paying out essentially 10 million per exhumer destroyed still likely nets the cartel a decent profit on replacements. Is this blood lust a direct result of the EVE Fanfest controversy? Did the Burn Jita event fan the flames of destruction? Did it offer up a taste for blood that was left unsated by the short duration of the carnage? Is this just a matter of enough time having gone by since the last Hulkageddon that players are keen to get into it?

Has the timing been just right for the event this time around? Or is it some combination of the above driving Hulkageddon V to be the most destructive on record? Have we indeed sown the wind and now must be ready to reap the whirlwind? Meanwhile, in an effort to cash in on the portended sharp rise in prices in the mineral market, I have gotten my own Hulk out of storage and have begun looking into mining in null sec, where Hulkageddon is not an issue.

Nobody needs to gank in 0. Of course, in the grand tradition of EVE Online, nothing is ever as easy as you think it is going to be. But that is a subject for another post. Helicity Boson has an announcement post up in the EVE Online forum with the usual complaints , as well as a guide over at the Hulkageddon web site that explains how to get setup on the kill board so that your kills will be recorded.

There is also a list of prizes for certain achievements in ganking as well as for sharing hate mail. Such mail always gets the same response. The event will run from April 29th through to May 29th. So pace yourselves. There is a whole month of ganking to come.

We shall see in a month just how much a new Hulk will cost. And that means the destruction of many mining barges. Of course, this time around, for Hulkageddon V, there is a new player. The Mittani and Helicity together on one stage! Goonswarm is stepping up as a sponsor of the event and is offering a payout of million ISK if you kill 10 Hulk or Mackinaw exhumers. You do not have to be a top performer on the kill board to get a payout. And, if I heard things right, the reward process will be at least semi-automated.

They are what you aspire to fly when you first start off mining in your Bantam or Osprey. They are expensive ships, but they harvest at such a rate that they pay themselves off pretty quickly with regular use. When you get to the Hulk is when you start getting annoyed by small asteroids. These ships are expensive because they require all sorts of special materials to create, plus the whole cycle of invention to create the blueprint.

Like all the Tech II blueprints I have seen, you have to start with a basic tech version of the item. You mean the new feature that holds one responsible for what they do for 15 mins cruel hug and makes them pick their targets better? I like this feature, that keeps them in space long long enough that the victim may have a chance to hunt down the coward that would normally hide in a station and reship… If they were inclined to get a lil payback. That would be funny. I think it would be fair to have the chance to catch someone after they have been concorded for ganking.

After all they may have just cost me a m ship and 50mill-bill in implants. They did their worst, I a miner should be given the chance to kick them back. If the ganker was smart, they could just set auto pilot to warp to all the planets in a circle till the timer ran out then docks up and tears.

One ganks and hides in a station is completely bull crap. A miner makes their choices to mine in an in protected ship, who am I to stop them, but at least they would have their chance to feel better about the experience. If someone commits a criminal act against you in highsec and lowsec too for that matter you earn a kill right.

You can also trade or sell that kill right to someone else if you want. Further, the career criminals are free-to-shoot all the time. If you just manage to tackle them with a warp scrambler or disrupter, the NPC faction police will show up in short order and explode them for you. This game gives you the chance for revenge, but it will not play the game for you. If you want to hunt criminals you can, but you will have to put in some effort as any other player who hunts another player in this game.

Plus you earn a kill right on them. As for the autopilot warping you from planet to planet, I think you should take a refresher course on how that feature works. Therefore they need to be at risk while doing so. Visit our health website in case you want to strengthen your health with a help health products. Our company provides herbal weight loss products.
