Just to be clear, he repeats himself, and asks her how she feels. Much closer. Thankfully, he has the adorable genius Kurisu on hand to help him decide what to draw up next. She theorizes that because sending one D-mail to cancel another made incremental progress, cancelling other D-mails that ended up changing the past will lead to further progress.
But that kind of change is peanuts compared to The last D-mail Okarin undid, which caused Suzuha to never meet her father. The next D-mail he has to undo is the Feyris sent; the one that somehow prevented Akiba from becoming an Otaku Mecca.
Okarin goes so far as to bring Feyris to the site where her cafe was or should be , and something very unsettling and haunting occurs: the area briefly shifts back and forth between its current abandoned state and the May Queen, causing Feyris to nearly faint. Even before this happens, the atmosphere is so thick you can cut it with a knife. This explains why he so suddenly appeared in her apartment after she sent the D-mail, and fully re-inserts Feyris, whose D-mail had far-reaching effects on the timeline but who had been largely sidelined since episode 9, right back into the thick of things, showing just how deep a bench this show has.
But before they can determine how to proceed, the crazed Rai-Netters corner them, and we get a tense, stark scene in which they beat Okarin bloody and prepare to take Feyris away to their deranged leader for God-knows-what manner of unpleasantness. Call it a deus or patrem?
But even with such a system, Feyris would have been in big trouble had Okarin not been there to delay them. Ten years ago, while preparing to board his flight for work ten years ago, her dad received a text that his daughter had been kidnapped, and as he was not as wealthy back then, had to sell his IBN in order to afford her ransom.
Considerable props to Miyano Mamoru and Momoi Haruko. Ten years ago, Rumiho was so angry and bitter at her dad for going on his trip, she told him she hated him before he left. That was the last time she ever saw him, as he was killed in a plane crash. When Okarin let her send a D-mail, she sent the false kidnapping message, which kept her dad off that flight and brought him home by train, which led to the current world line.
It was a selfish choice, but a perfectly understandable one. But now she can see both the world as it is and as it was, and she is sure of one thing: her father loved her dearly as she loved him, and nothing she said or did would change that fact. Her father died on that plane. He was supposed to die. Calling him her prince, I half-expected her to steal a kiss, but she settles for a behind-the-back hug and permission to cry.
Now Okarin finds himself in a situation with Feyris similar to the one with Kurisu: anytime he has these wonderful, powerful moments with either, he travels back in time and everything is lost.
Okarin tells her she almost certainly will remember, but he expresses far more confidence than he actually has on that front. Once Feyris sends her father a D-mail telling him the kidnapping was just a joke, the past changes again. Okarin finds himself in the lab, and Feyris comes up behind him. One: She remembers nothing, and is merely talking in their usual chuuni code, which she often uses to express her fondness for Okarin and only coincidentally describes their past dealings.
Two: She remembers something, but the memories have to be triggered, as Okarin triggered her memory of the maid cafe before. Three: She remembers everything, and is telling Kurisu and Mayushii the truth. This was still only one step on a very long stair. It is still a plausible theory, because it has nothing to do with photons traveling faster than the speed of light.
Sending a true D-Mail would additionally require developing an encoding scheme to layer information on the singlets not a cellphone. The missing assumption is: time travel is impossible…under our current human knowledge and technology.
For example, human knows that the Earth is round, but an ant does not. An ant only knows the world as it sees it with its own eyes and through the eyes of his fellow ants; thus it appear to be flat and limted. On a bigger scale, time travel is a new concept to human and appear to be impossible, yet to a higher life-form like a god or a billion year galaxy, time travel is a snap of a finger.
She kept taking pictures as proof of what had happened up to that point and it made me think that maybe she had to look at her old pictures to tell what the current world line is like. Once her role as a SERN agent surfaced, I just interpreted the cellphone pics as her way of gathering data.
Oho, Okabe in something less…mad-scientist like. He looks pretty cool too. Next one looks to be a Ruka dominated one. When and where do they post the S;G previews, anyhow? Unlike most shows, they never do it at the end of the credits … or if they have been the subbers have been cutting it off. The anime is aired as you see it. Yup, it looks like Okarin score another hottie Feyris for his harem.
However, my original suspicion that Moeka is the mother still stands…. Wow, absolutely amazing. First we can see how Okarin keep experementing with D-mail and time-leap. Of course, some of them are the greatest thing ever happen the miko become untrap.
NOW the second half of the season talk about how to undo everything that had happen. I wonder does this mean Kurisu will have to die after all? Agree with Enzo.
Since perhaps on other time line ,even with the IBN Mayuri will still have to die, therefore have to undo even further back to the first world. This will mean less of harem but wait HE like him as a boy too. We were fooled. Damn it, I was fooled.
Thought they were going to go straight to the world line where Kurisu is the one that dies. They certainly pulled a fast one there. Leaving the arguments and theories up to those who are more adept, I see that the divergence number has changed slightly again. Feyris has it bad. Okarin only remembers the time line he came from. Feyris remembers all her timelines. I love how Okabe keeps clinging to Kurisu for help.
My theory, it was eye contact with Okabe that allowed her to get the effects of the Reading Steiner. Just guessing tough. Thus, there is no clear evidence of either. However, since she did recall the other timelines, it paved the way into what the Reading Steiner really is….
How is that sad? You forget to recall that Okarin is an idiot who think that he is a mad scientist while Makise is a proven genius. Beside, it takes a real man to admit he is weak and he need help. Suzuha confirmed to have succeeded in her mission. That felt good given her letter last episode. Not sure why it got delayed for 1 day but Mayuri still got shot. I was expecting final destination style rather than Moeka again. Flipped the previous 2 episiodes, Suzuha never talked about an attractor field alpha unless Makise is referring to the rope analogy, in which case, the rope is the attractor field which would imply there is something at the core of the rope.
Her actions do not seem like that of a person who remembers what happened. She might remember them as a dream or something though. Personally i find it really admirable if someone could choose the same as Feyris.
Still it requires either a very strong sense of fairness or selflessness. That was the very same reason why Feyris agree to undoing her D-mail. It is the idea of giving something back to the person who have given you something to begin with, for that she see him as her prince in shining armor. This is the first episode of Steins;Gate that I felt was rushed. Other than the convenient plot device of Feyris remembering her previous life, there is another thing left unexplained: if she staged her own kidnapping then why did her father sell the IBN ?
Back when IBN was out, it was worth a lot of money. Anybody with money could have easily bought up the IBN. Assuming everything was SERN doing is just paranoia.
The second point you missed is that Steins;Gate is revert back to episode 1. It is undoing everything to explain what happen in episode 1 and about SERN dystopia. Thus, the next is Ruka D-mail and not Moeka D-mail…. How close is this to following the VN?
Is it different enough to make the VN worth playing through? Why does no one make a fuss about the fact that Okabe slept with Feyris? We know that now she has the reading steiner so she remembers all her past. Also there is no indication that she remembers at all. This is kinda what I hinted at in my earlier post. I have not read the VN, but I got that subtle hint that they may have gone ahead and slept together. This was further built on by the blush, so it only made sense in my head.
I think the animator is just heavily hinting on it. Although I do want to confirm, is the VN have no adult scene at all or just the clean version? Because I rather want to know the canon version of Stein Gate. There was no hints.
It was all in your head. The scene depicted may have leave room for assumptions, but nothing concrete. How would you need that after their conversation that she left the room and he fell asleep to wake up the next day and undo Feyris D-mail? If you looked back at previous episode, it did hinted that Feyris like Okarin. Now we just know why. It is a similar situation in Death Note where Mika had her memory erase a few times yet she still loved Light regardless if she knows him or not. It is the idea that love can transcend through time and space….
As human, we can only see what we want to see and hear what we want to hear. LOL, nice to know that you are a geass fan. Me too, but those days are over. Lelouch is dead. Moeka isn't exactly the most stable person to think for themselves and come up with that instead.
FB ordered them to kill Mayuri and take the others captive, so that's what they'll do. Regardless, even if they didn't do that it's pretty clear that Mayuri will die no matter what, just not by Moeka's hand. In the movie, Kurisu goes back in time and kisses Okabe in order to ground him to the timeline but if you go by the VN, this wouldn't work, seeing as he was thirteen at the time. The VN states that Okabe's first kiss was actually Mayuri, in elementary school, presumably years before the events of the movie.
So, is the movie a completely different canon than the VN? Think about it like this. You start in World line x. You send a d-mail telling ur friend jim some lottery numbers. The world line changes to world line y where Jim became rich. This means the mail was sent from World line x where he didn't win the lottery and was recieved in World line y where he did. In order to cancel out his lottery win, you take your own advice and you try sending a D-mail into the past world line y telling yourself not to send any D-mails.
The problem is the old you wouldn't ever reach that point on world line x. You can only send D-mails to world line y, or world line x before the split. If you sent one to world line y it would clearly be useless. If you sent one way back to before you bought the lottery ticket ie the "split" it would still be useless because you wouldnt reach the point in the timeline. Anyway this explanation was far more long-winded than I intended, and I really am not good at explaining it apparently.
Mercuri Offline Joined: May Posts: D: BBCode. I was sure of it. Why wasn't that person me? For her 8th birthday what Faris wanted was to spend a day with her father, but he had to break that promise, because of an urgent and unexpected work coming up. Faris was very angry about this and her last words to him was her telling him to "just die" the normal words of an angry kid. Faris wanted to make him worry so on her birthday she ran away from home.
On the same day, the plane Faris's father used messed up the landing and during the crash or whatever, he died only him though. Of course the kidnapping was just a joke to make him don't board the plane and instead use a bullet train to avoid his death.
However, her father didn't have that much money at that time, so he sold the IBN to some guy obviously working for SERN who bought it for a very big amount of money due to the desperate campaign of SERN wanting to buy up all of them. This is why it wasn't donated to the shrine later. I'm not sure where the money has been sent though, since the kidnapping was just made up, but it doesn't really matter.
Now that Faris and Okabe realized what happened, they sent back another D-mail "jk about kidnapping ilu papa cu soon" and so her father boarded the plane and unfortunately died. However, at least now Faris's last words to him weren't about her wanting him to die, but rather words of her loving him and hoping to seeing him soon.
Maybe I just need someone to confirm this for me haha xD Faris's father didn't know it was made up, I think he just had to send the money somewhere like I said, that part wasn't mentioned. Even Faris herself didn't really know about the kidnapping, since she didn't remember sending it back.
I think Faris just used this opportunity up after she ran away from home to make him worry. In the VN and I think in the anime as well, not sure , when Okabe was with them, Faris told her father to stop telling everyone about the kidnapping. I think the reason she said that was not because it was embarassing, but because she never told her father that it was just a joke. Lol your username reminds me of JellyMan :P. Faris remembers them as some kind of dream. Dream huh? It would've made more sense if they at least had foreshadowed that somehow Otherwise this just looks like a convenient resolution, but whatever.. Kurisu had a few minutes to hours of different memories. Faris had a whole life. What is more luckily to surface as a "memory" that has been bugging you for so long?. And THIS is the foreshadowing. Everyone has the ability to remember something a little bit but only Okabe can remember it perfectly.

Any changes outside the changes caused by the previous D-Mails would be risky. That's why he's strictly sticking to the reverse D-Mails.
